Labor Day is approaching, and Summer '07 is almost at an end..... So let's take one last look at the fortieth anniversary of the "Summer Of Love" and it's greatest product: "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" Whether or not it was the the best rock album of all time or even The Beatles' greatest is still debatable, but it's impact on culture and music in it's time is undeniable! Many mash-up producers have sourced this album for their work, and MashupTown and I have compiled a collection of the best. We tried not to repeat any song from Sgt. Pepper's, but in looking at the album's coda "A Day In The Life" there were just too many good ones to choose from. So we offer a finale of seven "Day" boots we call "A Week In The Life". In that spirit, MashupTown and Voicedude proudly present: "Sgt. Pepper's Midlife Crisis"
The tracklist is as follows:"Sgt. Pepper's Paradise" - Jimmie Jammes (Beatles vs. Guns N' Roses) "With A Little Glam" - ccc / ill chemist (Beatles vs. Gary Glitter vs. KLF / Timelords vs. Paul McCartney vs. John Lennon vs. Wings) "Pinocchiohead On LSD" - Go Home Productions (Beatles vs. Pinocchio vs. Radiohead) "The Word Is Good" - ccc / ill chemist (Beatles vs. The Clash vs. Queen) "Kelly Watch The Hole" - ccc / ill chemist (Beatles vs. Air) "She's Slipping" - ccc / ill chemist (Beatles vs. Kinobe vs. George Harrison) "Being For The Benefit Of P-Funk" - Voicedude (Beatles vs. Parliment / Funkadelic / George Clinton) "It's Far Too Late" - ccc / ill chemist (Beatles vs. The Doors vs. Jimi Hendrix Experience) "I Can't Help I'm Sixty-Four" - Voicedude (Beatles vs. Four Tops) "Struttin' Rita" - ccc / ill chemist (Beatles vs. Primal Scream) "Good Pressure" - ccc / ill chemist (Beatles vs. The Selecter vs. The Specials vs. The Skatalites) "Cracked Pepper (Reprise) " - ccc / ill chemist (Beatles vs. George Martin vs. Stevie Wonder) ...and the FINALE - "A Week In The Life": "Bring Me Back To A Day In The Life" - Voicedude - (Beatles Vs. Evanescence) "A Karma In The Life" - ghp - (Beatles Vs. Radiohead) "A Day In Tracy's Life" - Soundhog - (Beatles vs Mogwai vs Kid Loco) "A Day In The Life Of My Son" - DJ Earlybird - (Beatles Vs. Genesis) "A Knocking Day In The Life" - Semato - (Beatles Vs. GNR) "A Sky Blue Rhapsody" - ccc / ill chemist - (Beatles Vs. Gershwin Vs. ELO) "Dr. Pepper's Open Heart Club Sandwich" - Mr. Encrypto - (Buffalo Springfield Vs. Bee Gees Vs. David Bowie Vs. Kinks Vs. ELO Vs. Deep Purple Vs. Rutles) Get it from MashupTown HERE: http://www.mashuptown.com/sgt-peppers-mid-life-cris.html It's a collection of previously released works - with two notable exceptions: "Bring Me Back To A Day In The Life" - a MashupTown 'exclusive', and "Dr. Pepper's Open Heart Club Sandwich" - not really a mash-up, per se. Mr. Encrypto runs a website called Let's Be The Beatles. On it, he shows how other artist's works were influenced by the Fab Four. His track is more of a MegaMedley of songs that sound like "A Day In The Life". And of course, none of this would have been complete without CCC 's tireless work on "Cracked Pepper"! ....a big thanks to all of the producers: CCC, GHP, Jimmie Jammes, Semato, DJ Earlybird, Voicedude, Soundhog, and Mr. Encrypto, and to Blybug for his incredible artwork (which includes CD label, cover & track listing pages, etc.). Comments are always appreciated, especially on the newer works: "Bring Me Back To A Day In The Life", "Dr. Pepper's Open Heart Club Sandwich", and blybug's artwork. - Voicedude *** personal thanks to Art at MashupTown, and to Chris, DJ Useo, and Soundhog for helping with the "Day" 'pella ***

Here's the newest from me - in fact, here is three: one that's danceable and fun, one that's a classic artist chill boot, and one that's soundtrack-based and downright creepy!1) "Kelly's Boogie Shoes"Kelly - "Shoes" KC & the Sunshine Band - "Boogie Shoes" (and a bit of Bob Carlisle - "Christmas Shoes")
2) "Let's Get Into The Mystic"Marvin Gaye - "Let's Get It On" Van Morrison - "Into The Mystic" 3) "28 Miles Later"Eminem - "Lose Yourself" (from "8 Mile" OST)John Murphy - "In The House - In A Heartbeat" (aka Theme from "28 Days Later" & "28 Weeks Later")They're all located in my New For 2007 folder HERE: http://voicedude.multiply.com/musicComments are always welcome.... (please comment on music site)Thanx! - Voicedude
My newest mash-ups, the first made in one day after I finally found out what the song was they used in the season two closer of "The O.C." and recently parodied on SNL. Inspiration struck immediately. The result is as follows: "Oohh, Whatcha Smell?" Imogen Heap - "Hide And Seek" - Vs. - Nirvana - "Smells Like Teen Spirit" I think the above boot is a great fit, and Imogen Heap fans may enjoy the liberties I took with the rhythm, such as it is. But definitely takes a bit to get going, so I've made an alternate version: "Hide And Smell Up" A slight reworking of the last mash-up, with some added funk from Cameo for a bigger beginning: Imogen Heap - "Hide And Seek" - Vs. - Nirvana - "Smells Like Teen Spirit" - Vs. - Cameo - "Word Up" My Multiplier brothers and sisters can get them HERE: http://voicedude.multiply.com/music/item/126....or you can listen or download to BOTH from HERE: http://voicedude.podomatic.com/Comments are always welcome. Leave them on the link sites.... - Voicedude
VOTE FOR: "Dead Or Aguilera" for best video!
A video version of the smash mash-up of "Ain't No Other Man" by Christina Aguilera Vs. "You Spin Me 'Round" by Dead Or Alive has now been released. The track was made by Voicedude the same week that Christina's original track dropped, and many consider it to be the best mash of either song as well as one of the dude's very best. Recently made into a video by Multiply's own kLiz9, this is a must play for any video driven club!
It needs YOUR VOTE for the acapellas4u Video Mash-up Contest. You can view the video HERE: http://voicedude.multiply.com/video/item/8 ...and then VOTE for it HERE:: http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/topic41769.html "A vote for Voicedude is a vote yourself, but only if your name happens to be Voicedude." - Voicedude
Don't do it for me, do it for kLiz9!
Thanx!
'Big ups to my homies' DJ Morgoth and the gang for selecting this to be on another spotlighted segment of MashupTown. It's been the number one link on there for a while, too! Here's another new one from me, a sneak peek at a slightly off center concept album that I'm planning to release sometime this summer (hopefully). Here's a sports themed mash-up / medley using various musical artists & movie soundbites
- too many to mention individually....
Released at the perfect time of the year for sports: we just finished
with March Madness and The Masters, just got started with baseball,
getting into the play-offs for hockey and basketball, and there's also
football (NFL draft, Arena football, and of course Soccer).
With that in mind, I present this tree and a half minute barrage of
sports music, soundbites, and sound effects I call the "Ultimate Sports
Drink". It's dubbed the '07th Game Mix because I made the original
version in 2001 and have now reworked and remixed this newest version for 2007.

I'm not much of a blogger, but thanks to Multiply's stupid new rule about signing up to share, I can't post this on GYBO or acapellas4u. At least YOU ALL can hear it, an PLEASE share it with as many as you can!
Just today, I have finished my second in at least three socially relevant mash-ups this year.
It's called "War Bombs"
...and it mashes the following songs:
"You Dropped A Bomb On Me" by the Gap Band,
"War" by Edwin Starr,
"War Pigs" by Black Sabbath,
and "Bombs Over Baghdad" by Outkast.
It guess it's obvious what it's about. And now we have all suffered through FOUR years of this piece of Shi'ite war! Music has the power to entertain, to make us dance, but also to make us think. I dedicate this with total love, respect, and support to the troops who've been unnecessarily put in harm's way.
In my usual spot:
